The Park District receives funding from a variety of sources including public and private grants, donations of cash, stocks and land, and general fund contributions from Portage County Commissioners. The Portage County Commissioners have also helped by providing cash flow loans for grants that we have received as well as assisting with local matches for grants. The amounts and sources of our funding change from year to year depending on particular project needs and revenue availability. We have grown from having annual operating budget revenues of $15,000 in 1996 to approximately $175,000 today. So far, the Park District has received over $245,000 in individual cash donations, over $2,000,000 in grants and over $3,000,000 in land donation value. The Park District greatly appreciates the support it gets from the community in helping to grow our Portage County park and trail system!
